Abstract

Syphilis is one of the most common sexually transmitted infectious diseases, which presents different stages
in its clinical course. The secondary stage is characterized by a large lesional polymorphism, which involves
the skin, mucous membranes and cutaneous appendages, which is why it is known as “the great simulator”.
Knowledge of all its manifestations is important for its possible identification, diagnosis and subsequent
treatment.
