The present communication is aimed at contributing to the understanding of some issues related to the
teaching and learning of science in Higher Education, going to the theoretical category of complete learning
game by David Perkins, with the contribution of other authors. The reasons and purposes for which a
paradigm shift is proposed are discussed, the principles of full learning are analyzed, and some relevant
teaching strategies and conditions are stated and exemplified.
